Red Fort Blast Part of Coordinated Suicide Bombing Plot Across Delhi

The Red Fort car explosion, which killed twelve and injured dozens, is now suspected to be part of a broader suicide bombing conspiracy targeting Delhi’s high-security zones. Forensic analysis confirmed the use of military-grade explosives consistent with PETN, indicating external expertise. Investigators have connected the attack to a dismantled Faridabad-based terror module that had prepared more than 200 IEDs for synchronized attacks on religious and civilian sites. CCTV tracking revealed that the Hyundai i20 used in the bombing had circled central Delhi for hours before detonating near Sunheri Masjid. Security agencies suspect Dr. Umar Nabi, a medical professional from Kashmir, as a key link coordinating operations between JeM’s local recruits and handlers abroad. The NIA has taken over the case, coordinating with Delhi Police and the Intelligence Bureau, while Home Minister Amit Shah has ordered heightened alert across NCR and sensitive northern states.
