Two additional individuals, Kalavalapalli Konda Babu and Aviansh Somal, have been sentenced to Simple Imprisonment for 5 years and 10 months each in connection with the Pakistan-linked Visakhapatnam Navy espionage case, according to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). This brings the total number of convictions in the case to six, involving individuals who communicated with foreign intelligence agencies and shared classified information related to Indian defense establishments. The accused were arrested in December 2019 and were found to have received monetary benefits from Pakistan intelligence agents as part of an espionage conspiracy. This case underscores the ongoing threats to India’s national security and highlights the vigilance of Indian investigative agencies in countering espionage activities.
