NIA Seizes Property of Terror Associate in Shopian, J&K

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached the property of a terror associate, Tariq Ahmad Mir, in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. This action is part of a broader initiative targeting the financial and support structures that sustain militancy in the region. The NIA’s crackdown, which has seen numerous properties attached over the past year, complements ongoing operations by the J&K Police and security forces, aimed at dismantling the entire ecosystem of terrorism rather than solely focusing on armed militants. This coordinated strategy underscores India’s commitment to combatting terrorism through a comprehensive approach that includes both financial disruption and direct action against terrorist networks, thereby enhancing regional security and stability.
