NIA conducts multi-state raids to investigate arms smuggling to Bihar.
On December 4, 2025, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched coordinated raids across 22 locations in Haryana, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh to dismantle an illegal ammunition trafficking network sourcing arms from Uttar Pradesh for distribution in Bihar, under case RC-01/2025/NIA/PAT. These operations, supported by local police, targeted residences, storage sites, and businesses linked to suspects procuring and transporting illicit ammunition, with seizures including digital devices, incriminating documents, and financial records to trace money trails and connections to criminal gangs. The proactive measures by India’s premier agency highlight resolute efforts to safeguard national security, curb organized crime threatening Bihar’s stability, and prevent potential links to extremists, reinforcing public safety amid rising interstate smuggling threats.
