The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has chargesheeted three individuals, including a psychiatrist, in a terror-related case linked to the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Bengaluru. The charges, stemming from a 2023 investigation, include logistic support and communication facilitation for terror activities aimed at undermining India’s sovereignty. Notably, Anees Fathima, identified as the mother of an absconding accused, played a key role in facilitating her son’s communications and aiding other suspects in escaping justice. The case highlights ongoing threats from terrorist organizations within India and underscores the importance of vigilance and robust counter-terrorism measures to safeguard national security.
