Nepali Man Arrested for Providing Indian SIMs to ISI for Espionage

A Nepali national, Prabhat Kumar Chaurasiya, was arrested by Delhi Police for supplying Indian SIM cards to Pakistan’s ISI for espionage activities, purportedly lured by the promise of a US visa and journalism opportunities. Chaurasiya procured at least 16 SIM cards, which were found to be actively used in Pakistan to contact Indian Army personnel. His financial distress led him to collaborate with ISI operatives, raising concerns about the vulnerability of Indian communications to foreign espionage. This incident underscores the critical need for vigilance against espionage and highlights the importance of securing sensitive defense information in the face of external threats.
