A prominent member of the Maoist splinter group PLFI, Martin Kerketta, was killed in a gunfight with security forces in Jharkhand’s Gumla district, where he had a bounty of Rs 15 lakh on his head. Kerketta, wanted in 72 criminal cases across multiple districts, was engaged in a shootout with security personnel during a search operation, which resulted in his death and the recovery of a pistol from him.
