The duo previously nabbed on November 21—20-year-old Rohit and 37-year-old Santri, both from Uttar Pradesh and employed at Cochin Shipyard’s Malpe unit—allegedly shared classified details on naval ships, identification numbers, port operations, and shipyard activities via WhatsApp and Facebook for over 18 months, receiving substantial payments. Hitendra reportedly supplied SIM cards to facilitate the transmissions, underscoring vulnerabilities in India’s strategic maritime infrastructure; authorities suspect additional accomplices and are intensifying the probe to safeguard national security.
