IED blast near Kokrajhar station disrupts rail services in Assam.

Rail services in Lower Assam and parts of North Bengal faced significant disruption following an IED blast near Kokrajhar railway station, which occurred approximately five kilometers from the station late Wednesday night. The explosion severely damaged nearly three feet of railway track but fortunately resulted in no casualties or derailment. Train operations were suspended overnight, affecting numerous services until repairs were completed by 8 am the following morning. In response, security measures have been heightened along the railway route, and an investigation is underway to capture the individuals responsible for this act of sabotage. This incident underscores ongoing security challenges in the region, highlighting the need for enhanced vigilance to ensure passenger safety and the integrity of critical infrastructure.
