Delhi Court Places Dr. Bilal Malla in Custody Until January 16

Dr. Bilal Malla was remanded to judicial custody until January 16 by a Delhi court as part of the National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) investigation into the Red Fort blast that killed 15 people. Malla is implicated in providing logistical support to the suicide bomber, Dr. Umar-un-Nabi, linked to the terrorist group The Resistance Front, a proxy of Lashkar-e-Taiba. The investigation reveals sophisticated planning and international connections, with security forces conducting over 250 raids nationwide. The blast, targeting an emblematic national monument, has raised alarms over urban security vulnerabilities, prompting enhanced counter-terrorism measures as public outrage and calls for stronger laws intensify.
