BSF assures adequate forces to tackle Naxal threats in Odisha.
During a recent press conference, Inspector General Shiv Adhar Shrivastava of the BSF Frontier HQ addressed the Naxal situation in Odisha, affirming the adequacy of current forces with six battalions deployed. He emphasized the capability of these forces to conduct operations from newly established Company Operating Bases (COBs) and noted that while no immediate increase in troop strength is planned, the government remains prepared for any necessary adjustments. Highlighting the role of technology, he mentioned the use of advanced weapons, drones, and sensors tailored for the challenging forest terrain, which enhance operational effectiveness against Naxals. Stressing the importance of intelligence and tactical coordination, he stated that ongoing operations target key Naxal commanders, reinforcing the BSF’s commitment to combating anti-national elements effectively.
