Terrorism and Counterterrorism

Any terror act against India will now be deemed an act of war, says Lt Gen Singh.

In a significant shift in counter-terrorism strategy, Lt Gen Manjinder Singh, South Western Army Commander, announced that any terrorist act against India will henceforth be regarded as an act of war. This declaration follows the successful Operation Sindoor, which executed precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Emphasizing the need for readiness, he noted that the Indian Army is adapting to this ‘New Normal’ with enhanced technological capabilities and a focus on intensive night training, comprising 70% of their exercises. This robust stance signals India’s commitment to national security and its determination to counter terrorism decisively, reflecting a proactive approach to safeguarding its sovereignty.
