16 Naxalites Surrender in Chhattisgarh, Reject Maoist Ideology

In Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district, 16 Naxalites surrendered, expressing disillusionment with Maoist ideology and citing exploitation by top leaders. These cadres, involved in logistical support for armed groups, highlighted the harsh realities faced by local operatives, particularly women, who are treated as subordinates. They denounced the false promises made by Maoist leaders, who mislead tribals while exploiting their resources. The government is facilitating their rehabilitation with financial assistance, and aims to eradicate Naxalism by March 2026, underscoring a strategic commitment to addressing insurgency and restoring stability in affected regions. This development reflects the ongoing efforts to weaken Maoist influence in the area.
