Vice-President Radhakrishnan celebrates Vajpayee's centenary, honors his legacy and vision for India.
Vice-President Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan participated in the Birth Centenary celebrations of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, organized by the Atal Foundation. He highlighted Vajpayee’s commitment to dialogue, inclusive development, and governance, which elevated the quality of public discourse in India. The Vice-President recalled landmark initiatives during Vajpayee’s tenure, such as the creation of new states and major infrastructure projects like the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana and the Golden Quadrilateral, which contributed to India’s self-reliance, particularly exemplified by the 1998 Pokhran nuclear tests. He emphasized that Vajpayee’s vision continues to guide the nation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi towards achieving a developed India by 2047. Additionally, Radhakrishnan unveiled a statue of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, honoring her legacy as a ruler dedicated to public welfare and commending Indore for its status as the cleanest city in India, reflecting a collective civic responsibility.
