Defence Minister Rajnath Singh emphasized the Indian Navy’s pivotal role in not only maritime security but also economic security, noting that the region’s stability is crucial for India’s energy needs. He highlighted the commissioning of the multi-mission stealth frigates INS Udaygiri and INS Himgiri, which bolster the Navy’s capabilities and contribute to India’s self-reliance under the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative. In response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, Singh stated that India effectively retaliated through ‘Operation Sindoor,’ showcasing the nation’s commitment to counter-terrorism and its readiness to defend national security against any threats.
