BJP and RSS leaders to visit Manipur amid stability efforts.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president JP Nadda and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat are scheduled to visit Manipur amid ongoing efforts to improve stability in the region, which has been under President’s Rule since February 2023 due to ethnic violence. Indian Army chief Upendra Dwivedi noted significant improvements in the security situation, highlighting the successful Shirui Lily festival and Durand Cup as indicators of restored community confidence. Preparations are underway for a possible visit by President Droupadi Murmu on December 8-10, with security officials advised to be ready, signaling a potential shift towards political normalization in the northeastern state. This engagement reflects the government’s commitment to addressing the underlying issues and fostering dialogue among communities.
