Bajwa requests urgent central aid for flood-devastated Punjab
Punjab is grappling with one of its worst floods in decades, leading opposition leader Partap Singh Bajwa to request urgent central assistance from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. With 23 lives lost and over 1,018 villages affected, the situation is dire, affecting families and destroying more than three lakh acres of farmland. Bajwa emphasized that the scale of devastation necessitates immediate support, including compensation for victims and farmers, medical relief, and long-term flood management plans. He urged the Prime Minister to visit Punjab to observe the crisis firsthand, highlighting the state’s historical contributions to national security and agriculture.
