Vice-President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, participated in the World Meditation Day celebrations at Kanha Shanti Vanam in Telangana, emphasizing meditation’s universal significance in promoting inner peace and social harmony. He acknowledged India’s pivotal role in co-sponsoring the United Nations resolution declaring December 21 as World Meditation Day, marking a global recognition of the practice’s benefits for mental and spiritual well-being. Shri Radhakrishnan highlighted India’s rich civilizational heritage in meditation, citing teachings from the Bhagavad Gita and Thirumantiram, and advocated for the integration of meditation into daily life to foster emotional stability and ethical living. He articulated a vision for a Viksit Bharat@2047, underscoring that national development should encompass emotional and spiritual upliftment alongside economic advancement, thus contributing to a resilient and compassionate society.
