Spear Corps Conquers Mount Gorichen, Promotes Environmental Care

The Indian Army’s Spear Corps successfully summited Mount Gorichen, the highest peak in Arunachal Pradesh at 6,488 meters, on September 19. This expedition illustrated the soldiers’ resilience, discipline, and commitment not only to military excellence but also to environmental stewardship, as they conducted a cleanliness drive along their route. Lieutenant General Abhijjit S Pendharkar commended the team for their determination and commitment to preserving the region’s ecological integrity. This achievement reinforces the Indian Army’s ethos of courage and responsibility, highlighting its dual role in national defense and environmental conservation in the Himalayan region, ultimately showcasing the Army’s dedication to both service and sustainability.
