Relative impersonates military officer, defrauds banker of Rs 4 crore in Pune.

A retired banker in Pune was defrauded of Rs 4 crore by his relative, Shubham Sunil Prabhale, who posed as a Military Intelligence officer. Over four years, Prabhale convinced the victim that he would receive Rs 38 crore from the Ministry of Defence, extracting money under various pretexts. The scheme involved multiple family members, leading the victim to liquidate assets and borrow funds. When the victim sought to reclaim his money, he was misled by individuals impersonating defense officials. This incident underscores the critical need for public awareness regarding fraudulent schemes targeting individuals under the guise of military authority, highlighting potential vulnerabilities in financial and personal trust.
