Punjab minister seeks retired MiG-21s in schools to inspire students.

Punjab’s school education minister Harjot Singh Bains has proposed to the Indian Air Force (IAF) the installation of five retired MiG-21 aircraft at prominent schools to foster patriotism and inspire students towards careers in defense and aerospace. In his letter to Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, Bains emphasized the MiG-21’s iconic status and its historical significance in various wars, suggesting that the initiative would create a living tribute to its legacy. This educational endeavor aligns with the Punjab government’s focus on transformative education, aiming to spark interest in defense-related fields among students. The collaboration with the IAF for ceremonial events underscores a commitment to both national pride and educational innovation.
