Pune Airport parking expansion delayed due to IAF land transfer issues.

The expansion of Pune Airport’s parking capacity is facing delays due to the postponed transfer of 13 acres of Indian Air Force (IAF) land to the Airports Authority of India (AAI), now expected by the end of January. Initially anticipated by October, this delay could push the completion of five additional parking bays and three remote bays beyond 2026. The IAF has appointed officers to expedite the land transfer process, but documentation delays persist. The current infrastructure constraints were highlighted during a recent operational meltdown, emphasizing the urgent need for improvements as a second airport project in Purandar gains momentum, with enhanced compensation packages for affected residents announced by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
