Pakistan to stay in Asia Cup despite referee complaint.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided not to withdraw from the Asia Cup 2025 despite rising tensions over match referee Andy Pycroft’s role, following their complaint to the ICC regarding his conduct. The PCB alleged that Pycroft directed both captains not to shake hands, a long-standing tradition, reportedly influenced by the BCCI and the Indian government’s stance. While the PCB has lodged a formal grievance, no official withdrawal has been announced, and they continue participating in the tournament. This incident highlights the ongoing diplomatic strains and how sports can be affected by geopolitical dynamics, reflecting broader tensions in India-Pakistan relations.
