NTPC and NPCIL to invest ₹42,000 crore in Rajasthan nuclear plant

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 2,800 MW Mahi Banswara Rajasthan Atomic Power Project, a joint venture between NTPC and NPCIL, with an investment of approximately Rs 42,000 crore. This nuclear power plant, aiming to enhance India’s energy security, will provide reliable base load energy and bolster the nation’s environmental stewardship in nuclear energy. The project is expected to create numerous job opportunities and foster economic growth in Rajasthan. Additionally, Modi laid the foundation for significant renewable energy initiatives, including a 1560 MW solar power project by Avaada Group. The collective investments underscore India’s commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions and reducing carbon emissions, reflecting a strategic move towards energy self-reliance and environmental responsibility.
