Navy museum in Lucknow to showcase India's maritime heritage and capabilities.

The Indian Navy is set to enhance its public engagement and showcase its maritime legacy through a new museum on the banks of the Gomti River in Lucknow. This museum will feature an Interpretation Centre that narrates India’s naval history via immersive storytelling and digital displays, alongside an Open Air Museum showcasing decommissioned naval assets like the TU-142 aircraft and SK-42B helicopter. The initiative, evaluated in a recent review meeting led by tourism officials and Navy representatives, aims to instill pride and curiosity among youth while contributing to Lucknow’s tourism landscape. This development underscores the importance of bolstering public awareness of India’s naval capabilities and heritage, strengthening national pride and interest in maritime defense.
