Karnataka to establish a 200-acre semiconductor park in KWIN City.
The Karnataka government has announced plans to establish a 200-acre semiconductor park within the upcoming KWIN City near Bengaluru, aiming to bolster the state’s position as a hub for advanced industrial sectors. Minister M B Patil emphasized the need for a robust research and development ecosystem to attract global technology firms and major investments in emerging fields like drones, semiconductor devices, and solar energy. The initiative, part of Karnataka’s strategy to foster innovation and retain leadership in deep science and frontier technologies, is backed by an allocation of ₹600 crore. Collaborations with educational institutions and international partnerships are also being prioritized to enhance capabilities in AI, quantum computing, and other cutting-edge disciplines.
