The Indo-Tibetan Border Police’s 27th battalion has been recognized as the best anti-Naxal unit for its exemplary operational success and community engagement in Chhattisgarh, highlighted during the Raising Day Director General’s Parade in Udhampur. The battalion’s significant achievements include the elimination of two senior Naxal commanders and the neutralization of nine other top leaders, demonstrating a strategic approach in dismantling the Naxalite infrastructure. Beyond combat, the unit has fostered community trust through initiatives like career counseling and medical facilities, serving over 6,000 villagers. This recognition underscores the Indian government’s commitment to eradicating the Naxal threat by 2026 while promoting sustainable development in affected regions.
