ISRO to launch US BlueBird-6 satellite on December 15, enhancing space collaboration.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is set to launch the 6.5-tonne BlueBird-6 satellite for US-based AST SpaceMobile on December 15, marking a significant milestone in Indo-US space collaboration. The BlueBird-6 satellite, equipped with the largest commercial phased array antenna in low Earth orbit, will enhance cellular broadband capabilities and provide connectivity in underserved areas, showcasing advancements in space-based communication technology. The launch will utilize ISRO’s powerful LVM3 rocket, which recently demonstrated its capability by successfully deploying India’s CMS-3 satellite. This mission, falling under ISRO’s commercial arm New Space India Limited (NSIL), underscores India’s growing role in the global launch market and reflects the increasing private sector engagement in India’s space program. The successful deployment of BlueBird-6 is expected to bolster India’s reputation as a reliable launch partner and contribute to its strategic objectives in the defense and aerospace sectors, further solidifying alliances with key international partners in space exploration and technology.
