Investigation reveals students' scheme to emulate Nepal's protest movement against university policies.

An investigation by Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV) in Indore has revealed that five senior engineering students allegedly coerced juniors to create fake social media accounts to organize protests against the university, inspired by Nepal’s recent Gen Z movement. This protest in Nepal was a response to government actions suspending social media platforms, leading to significant political upheaval. The DAVV’s anti-ragging committee reported that the senior students threatened juniors with social isolation if they did not comply. Vice Chancellor Dr. Rakesh Singhai noted that while some students mentioned plans for a protest, further investigation is necessary. This incident raises concerns about student conduct and the influence of external movements on local university environments, highlighting the need for effective governance within educational institutions.
