India's Moon Mission by 2040 to Propel Viksit Bharat by 2047
Union Minister Jitendra Singh announced that India aims to send an astronaut to the moon by 2040, marking a significant milestone towards a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047. With reforms in the space sector since 2014, India’s space economy is projected to grow from USD 8 billion to USD 45 billion in the next decade. Key missions include an uncrewed robot mission in 2026 and the Gaganyaan human spaceflight in 2027, alongside the establishment of a Bharat Antariksh Station by 2035.
