Indian Oil launches fuel storage facility in Ladakh to boost energy security.
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has inaugurated a bulk fuel storage facility in Ladakh, developed in collaboration with the Indian Army, to enhance energy security in a strategically vital region. This facility, designed to withstand extreme weather conditions, ensures an uninterrupted fuel supply to support Advanced Winter Stocking (AWS) operations and improve the Indian Army’s operational readiness near the Line of Actual Control (LAC). By mitigating logistical challenges and facilitating troop mobility, the project reinforces India’s defense posture amid geopolitical tensions. Additionally, it addresses civilian fuel needs, showcasing a commitment to regional self-reliance and sustainability, while promoting indigenisation efforts in defense logistics through innovative solutions like winter-grade diesel.
