The Indian Navy recently concluded a workshop titled “Blending Ancient Wisdom with Modern Cognitive Science” in Kochi, aimed at enhancing operational safety by integrating philosophical insights with contemporary scientific approaches. Led by Capt. Amit Singh, the workshop engaged 33 naval officers, focusing on cognitive aspects of safety, the importance of mindfulness, and the application of techniques such as Japan’s “pointing and calling” method. Discussions emphasized the role of AI in safety systems while underscoring the irreplaceable value of human judgment.
