Indian Coast Guard rescues Ukrainian heart attack victim off Goa, showcasing maritime safety commitment.

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) successfully conducted a medical evacuation of a 62-year-old Ukrainian national suffering a heart attack aboard the Malta-flagged merchant vessel MV Interasia Amplify off the coast of Goa, underscoring its commitment to maritime safety. In addition, the ICG intercepted 11 Pakistani fishermen in Indian waters near Gujarat, emphasizing India’s vigilance in securing its maritime frontiers. Concurrently, India and Bangladesh engaged in a humanitarian exchange, repatriating 47 Indian and 38 Bangladeshi fishermen who inadvertently crossed the International Maritime Boundary Line. These operations reflect India’s robust maritime security strategy and its dedication to maintaining international maritime laws while addressing the humanitarian needs of fishing communities.
