Indian Army's Spear Corps hosts marathon to honor Kepang La Day.

In a significant display of patriotism and community spirit, the Indian Army’s Spear Corps organized the Siang Open Mini Marathon in Tuting, Arunachal Pradesh, to commemorate Kepang La Day on 17 November. The event attracted over 517 participants, including soldiers, local youth, and schoolchildren, who ran 2 km and 7 km through the scenic Siang Valley, symbolizing unity and civil-military harmony. This initiative not only honored the sacrifices of soldiers from the 1962 Battle of Kepang La but also reinforced the Indian Army’s commitment to nation-building and fostering relationships with border communities. The successful event underscores the importance of sports in promoting fitness and resilience in India’s northeastern frontier, aligning with Operation Sadbhavana’s broader goals of education and healthcare promotion.
