India Warns Pakistan of Flood Risks Amid Heavy Rainfall

India has issued fresh flood risk warnings to Pakistan regarding the Tawi river, exacerbated by heavy rainfall in northern states leading to excess water release from dams. These alerts, sent through the Ministry of External Affairs, were made on humanitarian grounds despite India’s suspension of routine hydrological data exchange with Pakistan following a terrorist attack in Jammu. The warnings aim to prevent loss of life and property across the border, as rivers in Punjab are also affected by rising water levels. This move highlights India’s commitment to regional stability and humanitarian concerns, even amidst strained relations.
