India to Address Global Semiconductor Talent Shortage by 2030
India is set to address the global semiconductor talent shortfall projected to reach one million by 2030, as highlighted by Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw. The recent inauguration of the first end-to-end Semiconductor OSAT Pilot Line Facility in Sanand, Gujarat, marks a significant milestone under the India Semiconductor Mission, aimed at enhancing domestic semiconductor design and manufacturing capabilities. This initiative partners with 270 universities to empower youth with advanced semiconductor tools, facilitating the development and fabrication of innovative chips. Ultimately, India’s strategic focus on building a robust semiconductor ecosystem positions the nation as a potential global hub while promoting self-reliance and meeting international demands.
