India Raises Concerns Over Bangladeshi Airline's Airspace Violation
On August 1, 2025, India officially raised concerns with Bangladesh over an inadvertent airspace violation by a Bangladeshi domestic airline that occurred in June. The incident was highlighted by Indian authorities to ensure measures are put in place to prevent such occurrences in the future. This comes amid heightened border vigilance, as the Border Security Force was placed on high alert due to recent unrest and an interim government taking charge in Bangladesh. Indian officials have also pointed to ongoing issues such as illegal border crossings and challenges posed by a porous border, with over 3,100km already fenced. Additionally, India condemned misleading social media remarks from an adviser in the Bangladeshi interim government, considering them infringements on its sovereignty.
