India Plans Crewed Moon Landing by 2040 with Gaganyaan Program
India is making significant strides in its human spaceflight program, Gaganyaan, with ambitious plans for a crewed Moon landing by 2040. The program’s foundation includes the development of the Human Rated Launch Vehicle, advanced propulsion systems, and a Crew Escape System, all ground-tested successfully. Additionally, the establishment of the Bharatiya Antariksh Station by 2035 will support long-term space missions. This roadmap aligns with India’s recent achievements, like the Chandrayaan-3 lunar landing, reinforcing its position as a leading spacefaring nation, enhancing global prestige, and advancing technological capabilities in space exploration and human spaceflight.
