IIT-Bombay students use Chandrayaan-2 data to map Moon's chemistry
Students from IIT-Bombay have successfully mapped the Moon’s surface chemistry using data from ISRO’s Chandrayaan-2 mission, showcasing their advanced astrophysics and data analysis skills during the Inter-IIT Tech Meet. The Large Area Soft X-ray Spectrometer onboard Chandrayaan-2 has provided extensive data, allowing the students to extract significant information on lunar composition. This achievement not only highlights the potential of India’s youth in driving scientific innovation but also reflects the growing capabilities of India’s space exploration endeavors. The success of these students reinforces the importance of academic collaboration in expanding India’s contributions to space science.
