The Sarang Helicopter Display Team of the Indian Air Force (IAF) will perform at the Mysuru Dasara festivities, aimed at inspiring local youth to consider careers in the armed forces. This marks the team’s return to the air show circuit after a four-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic and previous grounding of the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv fleet following a tragic crash in January. The IAF’s Sarang team, established in 2003, has showcased over 1,200 displays, promoting both national pride and the capabilities of indigenous defense technology developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). This event underscores the IAF’s commitment to outreach and recruitment while reinforcing the importance of homegrown military innovation.
