Governor Bhalla honors Captain Kenguruse and Nagaland's soldiers at Kisama Pavilion.
On December 6, 2025, during the ongoing Hornbill Festival 2025 at Kisama Heritage Village near Kohima, Nagaland Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, who also oversees Manipur, visited the Captain Kenguruse Pavilion to honor Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, MVC (Posthumous), and Nagaland’s valiant soldiers. The pavilion, dedicated to the Naga hero from 2 Rajputana Rifles who displayed extraordinary courage on June 28, 1999, during Operation Vijay in the Kargil War by single-handedly neutralizing an enemy machine-gun post on a treacherous cliff face despite sustaining fatal injuries, stands as a symbol of India’s unified martial spirit. Featuring a Heroes Gallery, VR experiences, paintball arena, delicacy corner, and souvenir shop, it highlights the Naga community’s proud contributions to national defense, reinforcing Northeast India’s integral role in safeguarding the motherland.
