Defence Secretary Celebrates IDSE Raising Day, Boosting Morale

The Indian Defence Service of Engineers (IDSE) celebrated its 76th Raising Day on September 17, 2025, at the Manekshaw Centre, Delhi Cantt, with Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh as the Chief Guest. In his address, the Defence Secretary praised the IDSE officers for their pivotal role in strengthening India’s national defense through the development and maintenance of world-class infrastructure, including airfields, naval jetties, hangars, hospitals, and administrative facilities across military establishments. He emphasized the urgent need for the cadre to embrace cutting-edge technologies and remain prepared to face emerging security challenges amid a dynamic regional security environment. The event underscored the importance of military-civilian collaboration in fortifying India’s defense readiness and strategic autonomy. The celebration included cultural programs featuring performances by artists from the Indian Council of Cultural Relations and was attended by senior civilian and military officials from the Ministry of Defence and Army Headquarters. Established in 1949, the IDSE has been crucial in building and sustaining robust defense infrastructure, supporting India’s growing geopolitical stature and defense modernization efforts.
