Cargo Shipments from India Remain Steady Despite US Tariff
Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal affirmed that cargo shipments from India remain unaffected by the recent 50% US tariff on Indian products, highlighting a 21.64% increase in exports to the US during April-July. Despite ongoing trade negotiations, which have been disrupted by the tariff imposition, India views the US’s actions as unfair. Sonowal also inaugurated a green hydrogen pilot project at VOC Port, positioning it as a hub for green energy and alternative fuels, crucial for India’s economic ambitions. This development underscores India’s resilience in trade and commitment to sustainable growth, critical for achieving a USD 5 trillion economy by 2027.
