BRO Project Swastik celebrates 65 years of enhancing Sikkim's connectivity and national security.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) Project Swastik celebrated its 65th Raising Day on October 1, 2025, marking significant achievements in enhancing connectivity across Sikkim’s challenging terrain. Since its inception in 1960, the project has constructed over 1,412 km of roads and 80 major bridges, which have been crucial for military operations and disaster resilience against events like floods and GLOFs. With plans for Rs. 1,152.66 crore in new infrastructure projects, including advanced technologies for eco-friendly construction, BRO aims to further expedite troop mobilization and strengthen national security. This celebration underscores BRO’s commitment not only to infrastructure development but also to the welfare of its workforce, ensuring a more connected and secure nation.
