Army jawan arrested in Samba for allegedly harassing a woman.

A serving Army jawan from Kerala, assigned to a Rashtriya Rifles battalion in Rajouri, has been arrested for allegedly sexually harassing a tribal woman in Samba district. The incident occurred on September 23 while the victim, a second-year B.Sc. student, was returning home. Following the incident, the accused reportedly fled the scene but was apprehended by local police shortly thereafter. This development highlights ongoing concerns about the conduct of military personnel and the need for robust measures to ensure the safety and dignity of women, particularly in regions with significant military presence. Addressing these issues is crucial for maintaining public trust and morale within the armed forces, as well as safeguarding community relations.
