Army and BRO Build Bailey Bridge Restoring Uttarkashi Connectivity
The Indian Army, in collaboration with the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) and local authorities, successfully constructed a 90-foot Bailey bridge in Limchigad, Uttarkashi, after the original bridge was destroyed by a cloudburst. This swift action restored crucial connectivity on the Gangotri National Highway, facilitating the movement of relief materials and local residents. The engineering teams operated tirelessly despite adverse weather conditions, showcasing the Army’s ability to respond effectively to natural disasters. Notably, since evacuation efforts began, over 1,273 individuals have been airlifted from stranded areas, highlighting the seamless coordination between military and civilian agencies in crisis management.
