120 Bahadur: A tribute to valiant soldiers of Rezang La battle.

The film “120 Bahadur,” directed by Razneesh Ghai, pays tribute to the heroism displayed by a group of 120 Indian soldiers under Major Shaitan Singh during the Battle of Rezang La in the 1962 India-China War. Despite a slow build-up, the film captures the intense and emotional struggles faced by these soldiers, who valiantly defended the crucial Chushul valley against a vastly superior Chinese force, ultimately sacrificing their lives in the process. While the lead actor Farhan Akhtar’s portrayal of Major Singh received mixed reviews, the film effectively showcases the camaraderie, resilience, and selfless military ethos of the Kumaon Regiment. The battle, which resulted in the loss of nearly all the Indian soldiers, stands as a poignant reminder of their bravery and has been depicted with modern cinematic techniques, enhancing the viewing experience. This film not only serves as an artistic representation of a significant historical event but also reinforces national pride and the sacrifices made by the Indian Armed Forces in the face of adversity.
