105-ft Tricolour to be installed in Poonch, symbolizing unity and pride.

On December 13, 2025, the Indian Army laid the foundation stone for a towering 105-ft Tricolour at Banwat View Point in Bandichechiyan village, Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir, near the Line of Control, reinforcing national unity and pride in this strategic border region. Maj Gen Kaushik Mukherjee, General Officer Commanding of the Ace of Spades Division (25 Infantry Division), presided over the ceremony attended by local villagers, community leaders, civil officials like Deputy Commissioner Ashok Kumar and MLA Ajaz Jan, Poonch Brigade Commander Brig Sachindra Joshi, and Army personnel, highlighting strong civil-military synergy. The initiative launches a month-long outreach with medical camps, cultural events, and welfare programs to deepen community ties, with inauguration planned for Republic Day 2026, aiming to boost patriotism, local culture, and tourism amid Poonch’s scenic hills.​
