The System for Pension Administration – Raksha (SPARSH) has significantly improved the grievance redressal process for defence pensioners in India, reducing the average resolution time from 56 days to just 20 days. As of now, 31.54 lakh pensioners are enrolled in the system, which has successfully resolved 87% of legacy discrepancies, benefitting 20.17 lakh beneficiaries following the implementation of One Rank One Pension (OROP)-III. The initiative, praised by Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, exemplifies the Indian government’s commitment to efficient governance and transparency. By facilitating direct bank transfers and minimizing bureaucratic hurdles, SPARSH stands as a transformative model in pension administration, enhancing the dignity and timely support for defence personnel.
