Raksha Mantri Shri Rajnath Singh visited the Defence Materials and Stores Research & Development Establishment (DMSRDE) in Kanpur on November 30, 2025, highlighting the facility’s pivotal role in India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem. During his visit, he was briefed on the laboratory’s ongoing projects and advancements in defence materials, including innovations in bulletproof gear, stealth technologies, and chemical protection suits. Singh commended DMSRDE for successfully transferring numerous technologies in alignment with the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, emphasizing the importance of tailoring technological developments to meet the specific needs of the armed forces. He also urged a focus on exploring the export potential of these innovations and enhancing collaborations between research institutions, MSMEs, and industry stakeholders, particularly through platforms like the Defence Technology and Test Centre in Lucknow. This visit underscores the government’s commitment to advancing a self-reliant and technologically superior defence sector, aiming to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
